Created organic posts on Facebook and a Facebook event. We had 1378 people interested in this event, with 1323 people attending, giving us 96% of attendees that showed up. I made nine posts between August 22nd and October 26th, totaling 62 shares and 38 likes. Our target audience was families. This was our third Halloween event at the Saginaw YMCA in over 10 years. In 2022, we had 168 people interested in our Halloween event from Facebook event, with 205 showing up, giving us an 82% attendance rate. Last year, in 2023, we had 860 people interested in our Halloween event, with 678 attendees, giving us a 79% attendance rate.
I promoted this event by posting the flyer on our Facebook page and on the Saginaw Neighborhood Watch page. I also passed out flyers to different organizations, including schools, dance studios, and other family oriented organizations, along with flyers around our Saginaw YMCA facility.
The turnout for this event was shocking for me. Although we didn't have many shares for the particular event, I always tag the event in every post so that the event details are still easily accessible to our target audience. This worked in our favor for this event.

I made nine posts between May 28th and August 2nd, totaling 242 shares and 89 likes. Our target audience was families with children in grade school (Pre-K through 12th Grade).
The strategy I used when promoting this event was posting the flyer on the Saginaw Neighborhood Watch page. I like posting free youth events to promote on this page because there are 67,076 members, and it is an excellent way for families to find out about events that can help them and their families.
I was happy with these results because this is the first Back To School event that the Saginaw YMCA has put on in over 10 years.
